We need to start this thread over!
The entire focus of this thread completely went askew when BJ made an issue out of something SO SMALL it should have been IGNORED-PERIOD. I never insulted anyone and now we have multiple people insulting me and reciting 3 grade jokes?!
Joe Iron, Christos,
Both of you embarrassed yourselves by elaborating on BJs comments without looking to see if he was justified in what he said to begin with! Which he was not! We call that being a Lemming.
I particularly liked Joe’s comment “It is not the opinion of the Americans, only of Steve.”
Trying to maturely pacify a situation he assisted in creating; as if he ACTUALLY KNEW what he was talking about!
Try not to let that happen again.
And if you can’t talk about the interface without getting personal,
Please stay off the thread.
Lets refocus-------------------------
The purpose here is to preserve and if possible expand ST usage by fixing what is broken with the situation at the moment.
I admit, the Cart IDE HDD interface is clever, but is simply not viable for too many reasons. Least of which is that the writers of the HDDriver interface will NEVER completely rewrite HDDriver so it will work with that interface.
The widest body of ST users have the 1040ST/1040STE machines and are in need of an equivalent of the Link97 cable.
At this stage in the game, ONLY a partnership between Steve form Atarimax.com and Best Electronics could possibly produce a new proper interface in volumes large enough to make a difference and get it shipped around the world. Oh and yes, both of them happen to be located in the US. (Hence the real meaning of my original comments for those of us that cant read between the lines) If Steve were in Germany I would have said the same thing.
