Nope! It's the hard disk mechanism ;)
I sold the unit years ago (it was my first hard disk). It apparently made the rounds with several users. A while back, one user was looking for help getting his hard disk working. I offered to look at it for him, got it running, and presto! I found that it was my old hard disk with some of my old data on it ;)
One of the owners apparently left it outside or in a garage, as there is evidence of water and rust on the bottom of the case and bottom shielding. The mechanism itself screeches like crazy when it boots up, but I was actually able to copy everything from the mechanism.
