I moved over to Atari when I was saving up for a GFX Card for my TT, I ended up building a fairly good spec PC ( for the time ) for a lot less money.
I them moved to PC, it was slow at first, then after some time, I stopped using the Ataris altogether.
The main cause of this, was that at the time, I was programmign with HiSoft Basic, and writing music with CuBase 3 on my TT, and I had just had a massive accident and suffered severe Mental trauma, and lost the use of my left arm, and while I will never recover, some time ago, I started back up with both of them, but this time using a PC.
I spent tons of cash trying to get the PC to as good as the Atari was, but failed... Lots of pretty colours, andit was fast compared to the TT but ultimately it was just crap.
I dug out the TT and after some re-getting used to it, I found that the TT is just right.
I now have the TT setup permanently alkongside a PC, and all the PC is used for, is to xfer data to/from it for storing samples, music etc, and of course, to write my finished CDs... Stuff the TT is more than capable of, however, even though I have 6 SCSI CD Writers, that are all seemingly compatible with the TT ( They work fine as CDROM ) but I have no CD Writing software andI am not willing to pay the prices asked for by where I can get it from.
The biggest killer for me of the Atari scene, has been the prices.
I know the usual arguement that they have to sell at the prices to recover enough money due to not that many people buying the stuff, btu in all honesty, this is bull... They have ALWAYS charged extortionate prices for Atari stuff.
