it seems to me that the atari ST/TT/FALCON scene is dying..........

If your definition of dying is that fewer users exist and few new products come out, then you are correct.
However, I have twenty games I haven't started yet, a dozen I keep going back to, lots of applications I use regularly, and a lot of fun knowing I've kept my old equipment going so long. I'm pretty sure I could now do everything I do on OSX, but why bother?
In some ways, it's like keeping an old car running. If you wait long enough, people come to take an interest in your "classic".
