Actually, as has already been mentioned, Papyrus has to be one of the most impressive peices of software I own.
Just consider what it does, and then consider its size, and how quick it runs on the Atari.
Now, look at anything on a PC that does the same, and then look at how overly bloated it is, and how powerful you need that PC to be, to run teh same as it does on the Atari.
Why is this?
I know why, but there is no excuse.
After buying a Falcon, I was gutted by its poor performance, I bought an eclipse PCI adapter, got one of my ATI Rage cards working on it ( eventually ) and was even more gutted that Magic wasnt all that happy, so I had to use MiNT, but MiNT is so slow compared to Magic, that I didnt want to bother, so I ended up selling the Falcon, which I sometimes regret.
I no longer have a GFX card for my TT, again, thinking that I would not be using the TT as much, but now I find myself using the TT almost every day again, and so I am stuck with 640x480x16 and I will perhaps be looking to upgrade it... It has 10/32 RAM so plenty to chew on, and more than I seriously need.
I am seriously wanting to get an Ethernet adapter for it now. I once had it connected to an OS/2 PC through Serial and was able to access the internet, but I no longer have a clue how I did it, but that may also be a small project for future.
For me, after being away from the PC for so long, and coming back to it, has given me a lot to chew on... Irritating things like being able to just sit down with with just a copy of HiSoft Basic, and my knowledge, and churn out anyhtign I fancied, was cool, but now, after so long, I cannot remember how to print my name, and this is irritating, but again, learning from the start is fun too!
I think my Atari life is starting from fresh again, is putting a whole new look on things.
On many PC forums I am happy to tell people that I use Atari computers, I have often beem referred to, as an Atari Necrophiliac, or an ST Pimp, and I like that.
I am looking forward to many years more of saying that I am happy to be an Atari user.
End of waffle.
