it's a good point you make about the efficiency of modern Atari software. I don't see why I should need a processor with it's clock measured of thousand of megahertz and hundreds of megs of ram just to write a text or to send an email.
Being restricted to 640x480x16 is the TT's biggest pain in the neck, as otherwise it is surely the best of the standard Atari machines by a mile. It's shame they didn't take off sales wise, as if they were easier to come by I'd get one for my mother, who is looking for a computer for herself for email and wp, and I'd like to give her a TT as I know it'll be less headaches for me, as whenever windows gets ugly, I get the call!
