MagiCMac is faster then that. 50 or 60 times faster then an old ST, at least on a G3 or G4. More interesting MagiCmac is about twice as fast as the Mac it's being run on!. MagiCmac is NOT an emulator, it's an alternate OS that takes over the machine.
My biggest problem with MagiCMac is that I have to put up with the Mac. I much prefer running on a Hades then a Mac. But then there's the side benefit of having access to software that has few comparisons on an Atari. Mostly rendering and modeling. I use
the Hades for DTP and Image Processing and the Mac for Rendering.
