you wrote, and I agree with you, but in my opinion the real problem is that 80x86-family CPUs (like Pentium 4 and AMD, for instance) are still based on a 16-bit architecture, so such an OS would suffer the same disadvantages of DOS (and Windows).<br><br>
The Atari's real advantages are the same they were in 1986:<br>
1) 24- and 32-bit memory addressing range;<br>
2) very-easy-to-learn and really user-friendly assembly syntax.<br>
