The asumption of Photochrome being the program of choice is based on a machine with 16 colors. Photochrome is an awesome means of fooling the screen into seeing more colors.
If you have a machine which can display 256 colors or more then Photochrome is a lousy choice. Stick with one of the more modern programs!
