True!
This has been said many times before that Atari and Amiga users would be better off joining up to develop or rather co-develop many things.
There are unfortunately those among us, and them that do not agree with this idea.
After all, the Amiga has one hell of a massive list of hardware add-ons for their range of machines, and the prices are fairly cheap compared to Atari hardware, so many Amiga owners do not want, some would say do not need help from Atari users, but the fact is that they should.
As for the hardware ( Machine wise rather than add-on ) being different, its actually not that different, and developing something that could be used on both platforms is not that far fetched.
One possibility is perhaps to create some kind of port similar to ISA/PCI etc ( or alter a current one such as the VME ) so that a particular item, for arguements sake a graphics card, could then be used on either machine!
I do not know whether any Amigas have a VME slot, but I do know that some machines have ISA and PCI, and according to some friends some even have AGP, but I serious doubt there is an Amiga that is fast enough to need one?
With PCI cards being pennies these days, I would have thought that drivers for PCI cards would be all over the place by now even for Atari Compatibles with PCI slots, but alas, there is not... Same with ISA also.
