I have removed the fan some weeks ago and nothing hppend yet. But the internal-HD is much louder than it :-(

Have a good look at the position of the fan. In my opinion there is NOTHING it can cool. The CPU and the DSP for example are far away from the fan. IMHO it has no use at all.
