Subject: RE: A New MIDI Atari?

Hi,

we do already have much software which could actually need faster hardware - AniPlayer for example...

What is bad is that no hardware is available at all. I mean, we dream of ColdFires, PPCs and further development, but we can't even buy a 68060-machine.

In newsgroups, forums, etc. new Atari-users keep appearing on and on and they ask things like "I want to have something better than my 1040ST - what should I get?" and the only answer we can give them is "a TT or Falcon which costs at least 150 Euro...".

If there would be at least 68060 machines available for a longer time, this would at least cause the prices for old Ataris to go down.
This is why I keep saying "support the ACP" - it's an open project which won't keep the hardware-plans behind closed doors.

I'm also using a Falcon, no, three Falcons. I have lots of software which fits very well. I could need some faster Atari, too. Even a 060 was good. But where to get it from???

Alex
