ok, 41.00 + 83.00 = €124. ok it 24€ more and it's only 2GHz in stead of 3. but by the time you can buy a atari coldfire clone you can pick up a 4GHz wintel for €100,00 (just CPU and board though).
numbers were meant just for the sake of arguing.
I DO have respect for people saying not wanting to emulate things, bu you have to be realistic. A coldfire based custom developed atari will cost at least €400 and if it isn't even faster as a emulated atari on a €100 PC the masses won't buy it and withou the masses no new software.
by the way, i read at www.st-computer.de that www.genisi.lu want tot licence 'atari' for their enhanced amiga ppc board pegasos 2.
1 GHz G4 processors are availeble for this board, only tos or mint wouldn't run on it. Now if someone would port aranym to the peagsos AND implement the existing 68k jit routine from the pegasos morphOS we might have a *real* GHz atari overnight...
Well, who knows what the future will bring...
