I think the voltage regulator, the 3 pin device could have more support around it like inductors, better capacitors. Really though, the design would be better if it was changed to split rail with opamps with no DC offset. Capacitors in the line of audio must be avoided unless they're good quality ones. Best to have an external DAC and ADC, Analog devices sell good chips. I think the JAM was pretty good.
