 Subject: atari 2600 fix

Hi-
I am hoping someone out there can help me fix my atari 2600. It used to work, and now I can not get it to even turn on. I have opened it up and I know that when the power is turned on, only the lower left-hand corner of the power card gets hot. If anyone has any suggestions as to what could be wrong and how to fix it, please let me know. I want to give it to my brother for a present and I need to get it working.
