Hi!
Unfortunately, from what I can gather (someone *please* prove me wrong by making one), Aranym cannot run on MacOS 9 or lower, because it requires a Unix-compatible filesystem (i.e. ext2). Under Windows 98 or earlier, you need to get a Unix emulator in order to make it work, and it still doesn't work 100%. I guess Windows 2000 and XP have some kind of Unix compatibility or something, as they apparently don't need it. And of course, MacOS X is Unix-based, so it works.
I'm frustrated by this as well. I don't currently have the money to buy MacOS X or MagicMac, my Mac doesn't have the system resources to run MacOS X really well, and it would be a bit problematic to install Linux, as I only have a 1-partition hard drive, and no way currently to back up my data in order to re-partition it (I know, really bad, but what can you do with no cash?).
Anyway, hopefully another solution (besides actually using a real Atari, which I do) will present itself soon!
