At last!
I think I have one of my ATI Rage Cards running on the Falcon. ( Magic 6 and Jinnee )
I got hold of the Eclipse PCI adapter sometime about October last year, and its taken me until now to actually get it runnign properly on the Falcon.
I have to admit, I have given up severl times, but its finally paid off!
Still have a handful of niggles, but its there!
First of all, the colour problems was so bloody simple to cure, its annoying me that I didnt realise sooner!
I was not setting a PALette for it!
I know, I know, but I just assumed that it didnt need one, or something, but I only just saw the light the other day!
Moving Icons was also a bugger for crashing it, and this was cured by not having the icons transparent, or real-time ( Dont know if its one in particular but all 3 are off, its working, and I will test which one/s later )
So there we have it!
Screen mode is now 800x600 8Bit and this is great because any higher and I cant see things ( small screen ), GEMBench is giving the display a good 1100% so the screen is every bit as quick as the TT's is now, and I am finally able to move windows in realtime on the Falcon like I can do with the TT - its still a bit jerky unfortunately, but I dont mind too much.
Ok, hassles... Few silly bits, but nothing that wont be a burden, except for one major headache, and that is that NVDI will not play at all?? I have tried a few versions, but nothing! - it crashes all the time?
I have tried it before and after, PCIBIOS and before and after FVDI, but still no luck!
My next test with this one, is to install NVDI while running everything incase it installs any other file thats not in it right now ( Different REZ = Different Files perhaps )
Either that, or I will dig out Speedo or FontGDos maybe? give them a whirl.
Whats next?
New Mouse most likely, more than likely I will just get another Qwertyx, and I have got to get a more sensible HD cos I have a 220MB IDE Drive, and an 18.2GB SCSI.... Overkill isnt it? - 2 or 4GB is more than I will need.
