Well, tonight was kinda exciting. Chris Martin (sysop of the telnetable
Atari BBS usually run on a XEGS.. JYBOLAC) and I with another friend tried
our hand at restoring a Atari TT030 that was bought off Ebay as spare parts
for like $30.
Chris spent off and off working on the TT030 for something like two
years and finally he realized after various tests that the TOS roms were
bad. Picked those up from Best Electronics for a bit, but they worked.
So now the TT030 comes up with the Atari logo and the memory test.
Really nice!
We are now trying to work on getting the floppy drive (and even the SCSI
drive) working on the computer and then we'll really be in business. (Chris
has a TT030 with Linux running on it, so he's doing good. To matter the
fact, we have attended the local Linux meeting with the Atari TT030 just to
throw a wrench in it all...) ;)
SO HERE IS WHERE WE COULD USE A HAND.. if you know of a good place to
find a drive drive (double or high) and the drive controller chip and drive
cable. That would help.
We eventually want to pick up a copy of HD Driver for running Ethernet
(a little device through the Appletalk port that adds a Ethernet port) so
would love to know where I could get that as well.
Kinda exciting though. But I'm beat... :D
