Recently I purchased a Epson GT scanner (good old e-bay) to go with GT Look and my Falcon. The scanner and software worked surprisingly well for a bit but then disaster struck. The computer froze well scanning direct to disk and I had to turn the scanner off. Following this the parallel port seems to have locked up, as has the disk drive. When I do I soft reset using the keyboard my internal speaker makes a crackling noise and attempting to get the scanner software to work again resulted in the same effect. Oddly enough my SCSI hard drive, keyboard mouse etc are still working fine. I've tried the usual stuff like reseting the NVRam (which was a job without a disk drive I can tell you) and unplugging everything attached to the computer other than the monitor. But no luck. Does my computer need to go to the nearest repair centre or does anyone out there have a solution. My Falcon is a 14mb model with no internal IDE drive.
