Hi I have just got out my old Atari 1040STE (1MB) and while sitting around wondering what to do I remembered a long time ago you chould fit 4 X 1MB 30 pin SIMM`s to it.

Well I open it up,I had to anyway as the fuse blew after 10mins of Zool!!!Fixed that right back to the RAM.

I found a guide which says just stick 4 X 1MB simms in.Well I got a bag of them they are 80NS Simm`s according to the guide this is ok,it says must be faster than 120NS.

So my questions are :

Is it ok to fit them?
Is there any kind of diagnostic software I chould run to find to show me how much ram is in there?(to know its all working)

This may sound silly but whould there be any performance increase?

Thanks for reading.
