Fancy getting back into my Ataris - I have not used them for more than a year now, after buying myself a Falcon, and realising that after all the time I wasted wanting one, and realising that they were overhyped piles of junk, I want to get my TT back into play.

So, bought a few bits for it, New keyboard, Mouse and screen. Set it up in the attic with all my PCs.
I will network it somehow to the MSTE, which in turn, is netted to the Linux box, which in turn is connected to the internet ( Maybe I will never do it, but I can try eh? )

Got myself a bundle of messy HDs that well need sorting out, and instead of those, I have an unused IBM 4.3GB SCSI Wide that I have been waiting to use for a fair while now on the TT, but I need an adapter ( 68-50 if anyone has one? ) but in the meantime, I am also using a 9GB Drive ( stupidly oversized - hence wanting to use the 4.3 )

Got meself a CD Writer.

Now, here is the issue I am coming up against.

AFAIK, there is only one CDWriter suite for the Atari, and this is Anodynes ExtenDOS Gold or CDWriter gold? Is that right?

The thing is, that I use MagicOS. Ok, I know that Magic and ExtenDOS are compatible, thats not the issue, but what is, is that When I used ExtenDOS to read CDs under Magic, I could never figure out how to read the CDs with Long Filenames?

I then asked here, and I was pointed in the direction of SPIN.

Never looked back really.

So, in order to read LFNs, I use SPIN, but then what about writing the CDs?

Can you see my point?

I am sure I remember that ExtenDOS now reads LFNs on CDs under Magic, so is this true?

Not actually sure if the CDRW is actually compatible either? so far, all I got from the site, about compatibility, is that there is a list in ExtenDOS Golds DOCs... Now, that means that I have to buy the bloody thing first to find out? - they have not replied if anyone is asking, so can anyone tell me if a Plextor is compatible? it reads CDs ok, but what about writing?

Oh, I dont know anymore? its late and I am getting confused!

Maybe I will just keep looking.

If anyone can offer anythign to add to this, I will be very greatful, if not, its no loss.
