When my Falcon was apart, I noticed that under the power supply was an empty PLCC socket (U33). I confirmed my guess that this was intended for a FPU math chip. It is cool that 68881 and 68882 ics are cheap, and I have read many accounts of ways to connect them; ranging from dropping in at 16 mHZ to overclocking.

I am wondering what software uses the FPU? All I have heard is that some graphics apps use it. Do other, non-graphical apps use FPU? I don't want to use my Falcon for graphics, so if that's all the FPU is for then I am not interested. But if there are any cool apps, especially music apps -or even OS routines- which can benefit, then I might install one.
