hi
i recently purchased an 814mb toshiba ide drive for my falcon (MK1926FCV). now, no matter how i change the jumper settings it will always get recognized as ide device 01.00 by hddriver (7.8) signaling that for some reason it keeps being handled as slave disk by the controller.
this isn't my primary problem but even after having partitioned the drive and after installing the driver it refuses to boot. the ct60's bootscreen keeps throwing an "ide error" for both ide devices (no not a "no boot" message). the disk works fine with hddriver run, manually. with a hddriver bootdisk auto-prg's won't get loaded from c: (and yes i adapted hddrivers bootdrive properties). i even tried setting up a very small bootpartition but that didn't help, either. the only solution that worked out for me is a cecile bootdisk (which btw. identifies the drive as a slave device even though it's the only hdd connected) crashing upon the coldboot ramtest and hence appears to be unacceptable, too. and no, switching the ct60 on/off doesn't change the situation by a single bit.
any ideas?
