Well, after listening to MANY of your answers, it appears that the ultimate solution to this situation would be an ASCI to USB interface module about the size and shape of the ICD Link.
The ST side of the interface protocol would be the standard Atari SH204/Megafile drives type providing Plug and play support straight from TOS and the other side USB 1.1.
This would allow maximum compatibility and give us transparent access to ANY USB devices including external hard drives and card readers,
The module would contain probably just one or maybe 2 chips and would be relatively inexpensive probably @100 USD.
Now, its crunch time, how exactly do we get this thing built?
