Hi
I bought the multi accessory Harlekin3 many years ago. I gave up on it for serious use when I couldn't get the Manager to show beyond the end of Dec 2000 without a lot of hassle.
I called Hisoft in the UK over 2 years ago and they told me they no longer sold or supported Harlekin, had parted company with the author of Harlekin and had no contact address for him. Now promted by a post & response on comp.sys.atari.st I've found the simple work around
and I can start using it after all these years - GREAT. I have it working on a TT and on Gemulator 2000.
Here's the problem & work around for anyone else who needs it. If there's a simpler one please let me know. If there is an update or patch to fix this please let me know.
In the Manager module of Harlekin3 you can show data by Day, Month, or Year. You can move forward/backward one day, month or year as you choose. Advancing by a year it is only possible to go as far as Dec 2000 and no further rendering the manager very inconvenient to use for diary date functions.
Here's the workaround: Delete Harlekins "date_f.prg" from the auto folder - I can't get it to work after 2000. When Harlekin is up and running - in the main Harlekin window click on the calendar icon or date line in the top bar. Set the date to todays date (any date)- click OK.Open the Manager module or click on the open Manager window (don't close the mail Harlekin window before doing this). The top bar of Manager should now update to show the system date you just entered but the Diary function may show some previous date. Single click on the calendar icon in the second bar at top of the Manager module. The diary function should also now update. You can now advance through that year by day or month.
To advance to any year after 2000 repeat the above procedure. Going backwards is easier use one month at a time or the above procedure. It is very much faster to do it than it is to describe it in words.
Strangely you can advance one day at a time from 1999 to any date after 2000 so the code must be there in the program.
System solutions still have Harlekin3 for sale - its a bargain at the asking price.
