Hi Atarians,

Today I received a wonderful Falcon030. I'm new to Atari's (have only owned Amigas in the past)so I'm hoping one of you seasoned veterans can help me with this...

On the outside left-hand corned of the case there is a non-standard _RED_ led (just to the left of the F1 key. I have never seen this on any photos of Falcons before and when I opened the case I can see it is wired-up to another equally mystifying green/blue component. This component is wired up to various chips on the board and again I have never seen this on any previous Falcon motherboards I've viewed in the past.

I have taken (blurry) photos and marked the offending areas with green arrows. I'm hoping someone can tell me what this mod does an what it's for. You can view the photos here: http://kraftworx.com/falcon/weirdstuff.htm
