I have been planning this for a while now, but I got a stock STE here, its got TOS 1.62
I also have a GEMULATOR card too, that has TOS 2.06 Chips on it.
Both the STE and the GEMulator board are running 2 CHIP ROMS.
I have had a poke around the net for instructions that are clear, but Im confused as a couple of them seem to contradict each other and this has me a little freaked.
Ok, firstly the ROMS in the STE are the shorter type and there are 4 pins on each ROM that are NOT occupied... The ROMS in the GEMulator boards ROMS are the full sized ones and therefore will use up the pins.
This I am not worried about.
What I am worried about is the rotation of the ROMS, and whcih ROM is which?
Ok, the ROMS in there now, have their notch facing the missing part fo the larger ROM
Is this how the other ROMS are to go?
I assume it is, but the DOCS say no.
the ROMS in the GEMulator board have a sticker on but the print is faded so, which ROM is which? - the one closer to the corner goes into which slot on the STE?
Is it going to kill teh STE / ROMS if I experiment until I get it right or will it kill it the moment I get it wrong?
Can anyone point me to some docs that will help me because as I said, the docs I have are contradicting each other in a few ways.
