I can see the next in the main board of my Atari 520STfm:

A row of 16 memory chips of 32Kb each (512 Kb in a full-wide row below the keyboard) in what appears to be the main memory bank.

There's another -empty- row with ready-to-use spaces in what appears to be the secondary memory bank.

Anyone has tried 1Meg upgrade by soldering 16 additional memory chips (another 512 Kb set) directly on the main board?
Any need to make further modifications in the main board after that?
