Hi all,
Im just trying a HD drive upgrade on an STe, but its not working as expected - could anyone help: I have built a small board that switches the FDC clock to 16mhz when drive A is active AND the HD line from the floppy is active (these seem to both be active low). The problem is that the HD line from the floppy doesnt seem to be working as described. Im using pin 2 from the floppy connector which, according to a couple of the drive upgrade texts that are around, should signal that a HD disk is in the drive, but it never seems to change state (I checked on the MegaSTe circuit and it uses the same pin to control its FDC clock signal). I have tried a PC drive and also the drive from a MegaSTe which I know is set up properly and works. If I tie the HD line of my circuit to 0v then I can read only HD disks, and if I tie it to +v then I can read only DD disks - as expected.
Any ideas?
