Hi, I am new to the atari computer world, but am eager to get into it. I have an ST, and was looking around the net for some games for it. I came across a site full of game disks by Automation, FOF, Debug and others [ftp://ftp.cs.tu-berlin.de/pub/atari/games/], but most of the files are in excess of 720kb [usually around 800kb].

On an ST, don't you need to use DD disks [that can only hold up to 720kb]? Unless you have a modified ST that can use HD disks.. and I don't have one that can. So my first question is..

1. how do I use these downloads on my ST if they can't fit on a DD floppy?

and..

2. can the atari openoot-from .st files, or are .st files just for emulators? And if they are just for emulators.. is there a program to extract the contents of a .st file while preserving its directory structure?

Thanks!
