Can anybody here help with a little mysety I'm trying to solve?..

I'm trying to peice together just_ when_ I recieved my Atari 2600. I received it on a Christmas, and it has to be 1981 or 1982, since it shipped with Combat, and my parents also bought PacMan for it (which I understood was rushed out for X-Mas '81)

The PacMan box still has a price tag on it, for $27.99 from Sears. A few months later I got Pitfall, which also has a price of $32.99 marked down to $27.99 from Sears. I have a few other cartridges that have $25 or so price tags on them.. I don't think I made much money back then (I was only 11 or 12, and might've had a paper route.) so I imagine I could buy a new cart every month or two.

My vcs is a four switcher, and I'm not sure when they went to market. I'm not sure if "combat" is the one with a plain silver label or the color one.. (I've had a few)

When exactly did prices start dropping for cartridges? later than x-mas '82? I know it was late '83 and early '84 when the bottom dropped out of the market.

(I remember buying E.T. for $ 0.99.. traded it off later.. For some reason I have an unhealthy urge to get this game again.. maybe I'll go get out my shovel and trek around New Mexico... No there's a concept for a video game! You're a future archeaologist searching for the lost treasure trove of ET cartridges!)
