I have an old laptop (a P75) which is too slow for STeem and
WinSTon, but runs Pacifist v0.46 fine. The trouble is, the laptop
doesn't have a right CTRL key, which Pacifist uses for joystick
fire. I know later versions of Pacifist allow you to use the left
CTRL key (defined in PACIFIST.INI), but those versions of Pacifist are slower than v0.46, and have flickery graphics.

What I would like to know is, is there a DOS program that can
remap the keyboard, so that if I press left CTRL then the laptop,
and therefore Pacifist, will see this as the right CTRL, and
act accordingly. Preferably a program that can be installed,
and uninstalled via a BATch file, so that claling it and then
Pacifist will be simple.

Cheers.
