Finally, got my ADSL turned on last week. Bought a new Netgear router and started hooking up computers. (c: Got three 68K MAC's in my LAN now (...and an old winamd, temporarily, I promise) and now, naturally, I would like to hook my dear old Falon up too.
I would like to hear from people who uses Mario Becroft's Ethernet cards on Falcons. Are them cards reliable and easy to install/use? Is there any software for filesharing etc? BTW, are there any other similar cards around?
A nice little trick to get MagiCMac on ethernet: I simply shared a folder inside the MMAC folder (MagiCMac/C:/shared/), in MAC OS, and then just started up MM, and hey it worked. The folder is still shared under MM so when I put stuff in 'shared' on one Jinnee desktop, it immediately shows up on the other two. (have to update the directory first, yes) And one of those folders is also shared to the web, so I guess I have the one and only webserver on earth, running MagiC/Jinnee/NVDI, or?? *G* (try to hack THAT, pese hackerz!)
Now, this will not help me to get CAB on the Internet, tho. I remember a rumour about some patch to redirect MagiCMac to the MAC's serial port, but has any1 ever heared of any patch to reach the Ethernet/LAN port?
If not, how hard can it be for a good coder to write one? Now that I have my ADSL ISP/Ethernet LAN, I would love to go DL STuff with AFTP under MagiCMac! (c:
Oh, and yes I will release the adress to the MagiC server when the page on/about it is ready...
