I was thinking about building a new computer, not a kit thing where you plug chips into sockets, but rather a getting some pcb board & constructing from scratch.
This then all at once appeared a little too much too take on & then I remembered Dali. He used to look at other peoples paintings & then paint somthing similar as though the picture had moved on, what if I got some pcb & got some old st motherboards & then remade them.
What are the possibilities?
What is considered the best st(e) motherboard?
Are 680x0 chips interchangeable?
Can I add scsi support?
Can I upgrade lots of things basically like,
memory
video
serial port
most of the ports
68k macs are relativley cheap, could I use adb keyboards & mice?
I would like to house the new ste in an Apple mac case( I have a spare Quadra 840av case!)
Could I remove the scsi controller chip from a mac & use it for the new ste?
Is there a place on the web where I can look at st motherboards & get discriptions of whats on there?
