I recently purchased a Mega STE and have been looking around inside the case out of pure curiosity.

I have discovered that there is an 8MHz 68000 installed instead of a 16MHz 68000. I can still switch to 16MHz mode under the .CPX Control Panel.

Is this actually overclocking the chip or am I still only getting 8MHz speed? My system info program tells me it's clocking at 16MHz but I want to be sure. Should I replace the chip with a genuine 16MHz 68000???
