Ehh sorry mixed topic/Name fields
To Jan Daldrup/Bengy Collins and other converted people ;)
The Classic Amigas are great and I can fully recommend them if you want to experience the creativity of the Amiga Community.
(If you don`t have the money buying several machines, I recommend waiting for the Amiga2) But I thought if people are really
interested I might give you some help with what type of machine and software I think is cool.
---------------------------------------------
System I recommend:
* Worrkbench 3.1 based A4000 (or a good tower based A1200)
* Cybergraphix (http://www.vgr.com/cybergfx/) based Graphics Card
* 060 based processor (PPC is too expensive as the Amiga2 comes closer and closer)
* AmigaOS 3.5 (ready ver soon) http://www.amiga.com/amigaos35/index-e.html
* A cheap CD-rom drive (As DVD will become standard soon)
---------------------------------------------
Games I recommend:
Share-/Freeware (Aminet)
* Deluxe Galaga http://de.aminet.net/pub/aminet/game/shoot/DeluxeGalaga_A.lha The most addictive game I know.
Now I can`t use my computer 95% of the time because my girlfriend is busy busting some aliens ;)
* Blitz Bombers http://de.aminet.net/pub/aminet/game/2play/BlitzBombers.lha Addictive Bomberman/Dyna Blasters type of game
* Doom 1 & 2 there are several clones available and many many addons. (also Heretic , Hexen, Descent and Abuse)

---------------------------------------------
Recent Commercial games (My favorites)
* Napalm http://clickboom.com/napalm/amiga/index.shtml The best of it`s kind (C&C /Dune2)
* Wasted Dreams http://www.dd-ent.com/games/wasteddreams/index.html Enjoyable arcade-adventure
* OnEscapee http://www.amigaflame.co.uk/amioe.htm (Review) Great Flashback/Another World type of game
* Foundation http://www.sneech.freeserve.co.uk/FoundSupport.html A settlers/Mega-lo-Mania type of game
* Genetic Species http://www.nutts.demon.co.uk/gs-review.html Outsold the Amiga version of Quake at release and I see why.
Soon to be released
* Trauma Zero http://clickboom.com/t0/1.shtml R-Type with bells and whistles.
* Gilbert Goodmate http://www.prelusion.com/ Monkey Island type of game by a Disney Artist (No conincidence all of Disney`s Animated Movies are done on Amigas!)
* Evil`s Doom SE http://www.titancomputer.de/EvilsDoomSE/evils.html A great Dungeon Master Clone.
* Great Nations http://gn.gameshock.com/ Sreenshots http://www.amidog.com/amiganutta/newgndemo.html A multi-player civilization game.

Check these websites for more info:
Amiga Web Directory http://www.cucug.org/amiga.html Central starting point for Amiga Websites/News/Newsgroups/Aminet
Amiga.Org http://www.amiga.org Another central place
Amiga http://www.amiga.com The main company.
Amiga Flame http://www.amigaflame.co.uk Games magazine
Amiga Nutta Magazine http://nutts.demon.co.uk Another Games Magazine
And off course my website ;) Amiga Chat - http://snow.icestorm.net/amiga
Sincerly, Mike Bouma.
P.S. As Aminet has the biggest collection of Share-/Freeware I recommend testing programs yourself as it is so much fun.
I recommend asking about any Amiga related questions on the Newsgroups (via www.cucug.org/amiga.html). Or on the Amiga (www.amiga.com) Bulletin Board as this is an Atari
Message and NOT an Amiga one.
