I recently bought an STf with what I thought was a bad floppy. I then swapped a PC floppy into it, switch to DS0 and bridging the disk detect switch closed etc.
It exibits the exact same behavior, (almost)
It will seek for a while, then poop out.
The original drive spun, and the steeper motor seeked, the pc drive tries to spin, and seeks.
Everytime I click on the A drive, or try to format it says the drive is not responding, even though the stepper motor is going and the lights light up.
I've checked the power leads and they seem OK 12VDC and 5VDC.. This is annoying, any ideas?
Is the controller bad?
