The guys over at www.classicgaming.com apparently had fun....
Cut from their site:
Just when you thought the next generation console market couldn't get any more crowded, it has been revealed that Hasbro (which now owns Atari) will be throwing its hat into the ring by releasing the Atari 15600 this fall. Hasbro will be officially announcing the system at E3, but for now this is what we know as far as system specifications go:
Motorola Dual 84000 Series CPU
16 MB 3DFX designed graphical architecture
Built-in Viewmaster
128 MB of system memory
Built-in handle for easy transport
4 gig hard drive
Woodgrain
56K modem
Game select switch
Fiber-optic ready 68,000KPS system bus
The system uses cartridges, of course, but cartridges that hold DVD's. These
DVD's can be stacked within the cartridge (standard cartridges can hold up to 20),
giving the Atari 15600 the largest storage capacity of any console yet.
The controllers will be rounded pucks that you must attach onto your head, a
breakthrough made possible by Atari's "Mindlink" technology. Expected launch
titles include Combat: Final Justice, Decathlon, Pigs in Space: The Next
Generation, and CyberBlastBam. For more information, check out Hasbro's official
Atari 15600 site (which seems to be down at the moment due to being flooded
with hits). More info to come!
