Hello. I recently purchased a Mega ST 4 with Tos 1.02. I've had a 1040ST for 13 years with a memory and Rom upgrade version 1.04. I read through some articles on the net and I thought that I could simply transfer the 6 chip TOS 1.04 from the 1040ST to the Mega4. WRONG! It didn't work. The Mega ST came with 2 chips in it but has 6 slots. I have no idea why this wouldn't work so I transfered everything back and all is fine, except I still would like to have TOS 1.04 on my mega ST in the form of ROM Chips. Is there a way to use the 6 chips that I have in the 1040 and if so, how? If not where can I get some new ROMS. I only paid $45.00 for my Mega 4 with mono and colour Monitors, a printer, Atari Modem and a megafile 30 and loads of software. I don't want to spend alot of money for the O/S upgrade and I plan on giving my 1040 to my friend. Any advise would be much appreciated.
