Hi, folks! Any SCSI xperts around?
I recently found a 2GB SCSI HD in a swedish secondhand data shop... It has a micro D-sub connector, just like my Falc. "very handy" I said to myself, bought it (almost for free :) and went home, where I found out it has a 68 pin MDsub, not 50.
A quick search on the web told me that this is a wide SCSI drive, and that wide SCSI is backward compatible to 8-bit SCSI. But not a word on how to connect it...
Does ne1 know how to do this?? All control lines is the same, but do I connect data bit 0-7 and leave data bit 8-15 open on the drive, or???
The drive is a Quantum XP32150W, and it has 2 SCSI-id selectors with jumper pairs 1, 2, 4 and 8, on BOTH! Help! What happens if they are set to two different id:s? Or should they be set so? My eternal gratitude to ne1 who can straighten things out for me :)
I intend to use this drive for HD recording with Cubase Audio, but can it be connected to my Falc at all in the first place???
Lotsa thanx in advance
