hello

i've been working on an old Vortex hard drive which was possible thanks to someone on here kindly emailing me the correct software

anyway i've got the thing up and running etc - it boots ok - is formatted and partitioned BUT! when i copy a program to it it usually copies ok (not all the time) - but when i then try to run the program it can't and comes up with "data on disc may be damaged etc" message

there are some bad sectors which have been marked

basically i'm just wondering if there is anything i can do with it? or if indeed it is the drive - i thought maybe the actual interface itself and i have tried 2 different DMA cables - same prob - it uses an old MFM drive inside which is quite specific to the interface i think (3.5" Epson 720) and would be impossible to get hold off to replace - very similar to the atari megafile setup

anyway and help would be appreciated :0)

thanks
