I'm posting in the 16/32-bit forum in response to a reply I got from Peter in the 8-bits forum.

Someone said it would be great if people started working on the old 8-bit programs and upgraded them through emulators to have better features and graphics. Yet retaining internal 8-bit engine. Just modding them for enhancement, a stellar idea.

Then someone said these same or similar programs are available on ST/TT/Falcon, yet I do not believe it. Is there a list of Atari 8-bit programs that were ported over to the ST/TT/Falcon and improved upon?

According to my first-hand memory and held up by Wikipedia, the Amiga was supposed to be the next generation Atari computer. So how related are the 8-bits to the ST/TT/Falcon ? I don't seem to remember them being much related to the 8-bits at all, as the Tramiels trashed the entire beloved 8-bit line as well as killed off its potential PC compatibility.
