Ok here's a question for the more technically minded among you. About a year ago I brought a Yahama SCSI CDRW off evilbay, which I wanted to swap with another slightly newer model Yahama SCSI CDRW that had died. The pin outs at the back were the same so I swapped the two drives over in my SCSI housing. However HD Driver didn't like the new drive and froze whenever I turned the drive on (during boot up). I assumed the drive was dead, and thought no more of it until just now when I had another tinker. Still no joy with HD Driver but using crusty old ICD utilities the drive not only registered but I could browse the directories when I ran Extendos. This I find a tad weird. I've tried two versions of HD Driver, 7 and 7.7 (well nearly those numbers) and no joy with either. I messed about with the parity but it doesn't make a difference and like I say it works fine under ICD. Any ideas for a fix? Thanks for any help in advance.
