I just got my SM194 working and it looks great!
I got a second hand Mega ST4 with megafile33 and megafile44,but no monitor, 18 months ago. 6 months later I got my hands on an SM194,but no cable.
Not knowing anything about the SM194 or the Viking controller card, I was wary about making the cable myself. I did'nt know if either the mega ST or the monitor were in working condition. It's not easy to find any info on the SM194.
After getting some info from somebody else who had an SM194, in this forum, I finally made the cable, plugged it in and turned on the switch. At first a strange display with random characters popped up. But then suddenly the crystal clear ST desktop glowed in all its grandeur at me. I'm amazed that a 15 year old machine that has probably seen better days would work so well. Atari made good machines.
