Okay, sorry for crossposting this from atari.st, but I have to ;-)
Hy all,
is it just me, or are all those lucky XL/XE owners to be admired for their SIO2PC/SIO2ST-Cables? I'd say, hooking a pc as a disk drive to my beloved ST would be the greatest thing since invention of the ST itself.
This would save precious amounts of time, where one could do plenty of normal things - instead of waiting for makedisk/msa to finish...
Is there anybody knowing how much effort it would take to build an interface that replaces the original ST-Disk-Drive and connects (more or less) directly to a PC? And could such a person actually build it? Or has somebody already tried something like that?
I'm not talking about an software solution here, at least not on ST side - it would sure be possible to write own Disk-access routines for the BIOS that acces MSAs/STs on the STs Hard drive - a software solution won't work for most games and demos. The PC Software on the other hand should be no problem...
I would appreciate it a lot if somebody could help me out here - or point me to a person/resource which could. Emulators are nice nowadays, but they simply don't fit as nicely to my TV as my ST does ;-)
Thanks in advance,
tIn.
