The world's first Atari 8-bit web browser - the Contiki - is now completed and ready for download!
You will now be able to browse the web through any Atari 8-bit computer with 64k of RAM and internet connection.
The CONTIKI web browser for Atari 8-bit (400/800/XL/XE) computers was ported by Christian Groessler. It will work on any unmodified Atari 8-bit computer (or emulator of course) that has an internet connection.
Contiki is designed to be a modern, open source, Internet-enabled operating system and desktop environment for very constrained systems such as the Atari 8-bit home computers.
All of the following is contained in the Contiki binary file, a 42k file that runs comfortably in 64k of memory:
* Multi-tasking kernal
* Windowing system and themable GUI toolkit
* TCP/IP stack for internet networking, with RS-232/SLIP or Ethernet
* Simple telnet client
* Web browser for internet surfing - WORLD'S 1ST WEB BROWSER FOR 8-BIT SYSTEMS !!!!!!
