Hello Everyone,
I finally got a Jaguar -- a secondhand one from eBay! :-)
But I can't get it to work. :-(
It didn't come with a manual or power adapter -- just the console, two controllers, and seven games.
I've tried several power adapters and RF cables but I don't get any picture/sound on my television.
I checked out the Jaguar FAQ and printed off the power adapter specifications and brought it to Radio Shack. I purchased a Sega adapter that matches the specs exactly but the Jag won't power up with it. The only adapter that turns the power light on is a universal adapter (300Amps) that I use with my 2600.
The red light on the Jag comes on when I press it. All I get is a black screen. Although once I could make out a distorted title screen for DOOM and heard faint sound effects but that only happened one time.
Could the problem be the switch box that I'm using? It's an old style box for use with 2600-style consoles. Or could the problem be that the power adapter is only 300Amps instead of 1200? I purchased the Jaguar from the USA and I'm in Canada so pretty sure that it's a North American NTSC model.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My friends and I can't wait to play the games.
Thanks,
Trenchcoat Steve
