Hi folks
I am a newcomer to the whole Jaguar scene having only just got a console a week ago. As an avid gamer with a desire to try as many gaming experiences as possible, both old and new, I recently purchased a machine based on some articles and write-ups I had read online, as did a friend. Along with it I got Tempest 2000 and despite only playing it for a few hours so far it is great fun. My next purchases look as though they'll be Doom, a Jaglink and AvP.
The reason I am writing here is to see if any of you Jag veterans can clear up some issues and answer some questions for me. I have read quite a bit but some things aren't clear to me, so, here we go:
1) What is regarded as being THE Jaguar site, a site that is regularly updated with all things Jaguar?
2) In addition to the titles I mentioned above, what others would you recommend I get my hands on?
3) I have read some info about the Catbox. How useful would you say this is to have, and how easily are they to come by?
4) Battlesphere looks as though it could be a fantastic piece of fun, but I understand that there are no new cartridges available. Does anyone have it, if so what are their thoughts on it, and secondly, is there any way that an original can be found for purchase?
5) What is needed in order to develop Jaguar software yourself?
6) What is the Jaguar amateur development scene like at the moment and what titles are people looking forward to?
7) Where do you recommend that I purchase Jaguar software and hardware from, bearing in mind I am from the UK? Telegames seems a good bet. Are they reliable?
Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me. I seriously enjoy reading about the system and its background and this forum seems to be frequented by some genuinely helpful folk. Keep it up cos people like me need and apreciate the help you provide.
