Hi,
the TOS only supports matrix or typewriter (or whatever you call those) printers by default and your printer most probably does not support these. The problem lies in the minimum implementation of GDOS in the TOS-ROM that is very basic and was planned to be "expanded" by a software GDOS loaded from disk.
One the most popular GDOS extensions (or rather replacements) is NVDI which will also serve as a general printer driver for many programs.
Since NVDI also includes Font-support and speeds up your display dramatically, i recommend you obtain a copy of NVDI.
