Subject: RE: servicing 2600 or verifying they work

Hello,

I recently purchased an Atari 2600 (yesterday, actually) at a garage sale and
ran home to try it out. Much to my dismay, I experienced the same problem you
did -- on two new tv sets. Luckily, I have an r/f switch from my Colecovision and an old b/w tv set. When I hooked up the Atari to my b/w with the r/f switch, it worked perfectly.

Sir, I'm pretty sure the unit is working fine, you just need access to an old tv set or you need to purchase an r/f switch (from Radio Shack) with the adapter (75 ohm to two-connector).

Hope that helped.

Roy
